The community breathes life when its members spread across the world share their talents, their regional culture and their voices with each other. Fortunately the medium of Internet allows us to do it through simple and free means!

What is radio idli all about? is it a 24 hour FM radio station?

Pioneered by a group of saraswat youth named "Idli house council", Radio idli is an online audio blog, which is a one stop medium for hearing the best talent and cultural aspects of our Saraswat community. The main differentiator of this medium is use of Voice and multimedia. It is available at the listeners convenience at the website :

Radio Idli is not available on FM broadcast. Its available on demand, at the listener's convenience at his/her desktop, throught the Internet.


What can we hear on Radio Idli?

Programmes mainly consisting of  individual voice submissions are loaded on the site every weekend. Apart from film and devotional music, regular programs like "Lokaabhiraam" (Konkani Humour) are superhits on the blog. The content has found interest even with the older generations as they associate programmes like Lokaabhiraam with their lives back at Mangalore and closeby hometowns.

Radio Idli invites each and every Saraswat on the Internet to submit their voice recording(songs, Narrations, poems, instrumental play) or any of their own audio works at

It will be posted on Radio idli to be heard and commented by the Community members. The only rule is that the Audio recording sent should be original effort of the contributor. You may sing Rafi songs, but in your own voice!


Who contributes and runs Radio Idli?

Each and every member of the saraswat community connected through the internet is Invited to submit their voice recording. Its their submissions that run on the blog as interesting content.

The content is coordinated and posted on the blog by Nagesh Pai, who is aptly supported by a whole group of "talent hunters" enlisted on the Website with their orkut contacts. The site has regular contributors who have submissions right from Bhajans, Konkani narrations, Videos, and newer genres like karaokes and remixes.
